It's over a year since I did a trance mix and after hearing Mediterranean Flower on the Horizon Radio podcast I meant to include it in Trance 7. I'll admit I don't keep up with trance music like I used to, so I checked out some new releases on Trance Junkies meaning most of this mix is fairly new stuff, along with a couple of tunes from the turn of the decade (last time round) and that long overdue appearance of Mediterranean Flower.

Bit of a news update too. My previous mixes have all been at 128kbps. This one is 192kpbs. It means it should sound a bit better when you crank the volume up and at around 100mb it doesn't make the file too large.

Also, in case you haven't noticed the link over on the right, I've set up another blog - Old School Mixes. I've still to sort out the site layout but all my CD rips of old school dance mixes are up so head over there for a bit of nostalgia.

Typically late, here's my 6th trance mix. It'll probably be my last trance mix for a while, though I am toying with the idea of a "chilled" trance mix (you know the sort of thing, those beatless remixes you sometimes find on the B-sides of 12"s).

I've also got a beatless version of "Strings Of Life" but I've never used it in a mix so I don't know how it will turn out. I've never used any of the beatless trance remixes either for that matter so it may not come about, but you never know.

I've got a few mixes i've already recorded as mp3s; big beat, breaks, eclectic stuff, even a mix featuring a load of 70s funk. I'll probably upload these before worrying about any more new mixes.

Or "Trance Mix #2" if you count my Platipus mix. Which I don't (cos I can't be bothered renaming the source mp3s and the artworks already done). Maybe I should have saved my Platipus mix til the end.

Anyway, first of 5 trance mixes for you, no "all-by-the-same-artist" or "just-one-label" nonsense, just quality trance tracks. This mix features some newer tracks and some newer remixes of tracks from the late 90s and early 00s.

The majority of my trance stuff is late 90s/early 00s but the odd new track creeps in ocassionaly and some really are old school (especially so in Mix #2).
