Dunfyboy - Disco Ital
I've been meaning to do this mix for ages but, you know...

Dunfy's Harfloor Mix
I thought I'd do a 4 on the floor mix featuring everyone's favourite German knob twiddlers as a break from all those samba and bossa nova compilations that are doing the rounds because the World Cup is in Brazil :)
During upload, I noticed Mixcloud's message at the bottom of the page "You have more than 3 tracks by the same artist - this upload may be disabled for listeners in the USA". It must be great living in the land of the free.

Dunfyboy's 808 State Mix

Get it from MediaFire.
It's been a while since I did one of my artist mixes and even longer since I did an old school mix so, to put the record straight on both counts, here's my tribute to 808 State, including a couple of tracks they did with MC Tunes, remixes from Aphex Twin, Brian Eno and (of course) Jon Carter along with 808 State's remix of The Stone Roses' classic "Made Of Stone".
The mix has been pretty much done and dusted for a few days now, but the original 3/4 time version of "Lopez" didn't really mix properly with One In Ten so I've used the Eno version instead. Even so, I'm still not sure. Let me know what you think. If you fancy a mix with the original version of "Lopez", I'd recommend this awesome mix. Oh, it's one of mine. I didn't even notice :)

Dunfyboy's Remix Mix

Click here to download this mix from Rapidshare.
I've had this mix in mind for a while after stumbling across I Prefer The Remix where I found a mp3 of Jon Carter's remix of Cubik (well, it saved me ripping it from the 12").
Some remixes are a complete waste of time. They might just change the beat slightly or have the breakdown run for a bit longer or stick a 4-on-the-floor drumbeat over a rock song to make a club remix. You'll often hear a "breaks" remix is just the original tune with amen breaks laid over the top. Speed it up and you've got a drum and bass remix (like the Rcola remix, but I couldn't help myself). On the other hand, some can prove more popular than the original.
Timo Mass' remix of Doom's Night is the one everyone thinks of when you mention the song, so much so that other remixes are based on this version rather than the original. Jam & Spoon's remix of Age Of Love became the definitive version and has appeared on more compilations than the original mix and, as you'll see with Ed Solo's take on it, sometimes you can totally reinvent an old song.
You might even find a remix gets overlooked because it's on the flipside of a classic. That's why I've used the Morning Time Mix of You've Got The Love. It never stood a chance against Erin's Bootleg Mix. The Now Voyager Remix is another example of breathing new life into an old song.
I'm sure there are other remixes you think may have been on this mix. I did consider Born Slippy Nuxx, but the Nuxx version bares no resemblance to the original so I've always thought of it as an original song in it's own right.
Hopefully there's something here you've never heard before. There's a lot more out there than the main mix they keep hammering on MTV or Radio One. Sometimes you have to dig a little deeper, and remixes like these are your reward.
Enjoy.

It's been a while since I upped a new mix, and the best part of 6 months since I upped an old school mix, so this is well overdue. I thought I'd pay tribute to the Belgian label R&S Records, so that means a bit of house, a bit of acid, a bit of new beat and plenty of good old faceless techno bollocks. They were one of the biggest labels back in the day so you'll recognise some of the names and tracks but hopefully there'll be something you've not heard before (or not for a while, at least).
Get the mix from MediaFire here.

Dunfyboy's Marc Smith Mix

Download from MediaFire.
Scott Brown may have been better known outside of Scotland and he definitely released (churned out?) more music, but Marc Smith was always the King of Scottish hardcore in my opinion. He was a DJ first and foremost, but even from his first release, "Breakdown", he produced some of the best hardcore tunes and remixes of all time.
So here's a little mix in his honour, featuring his work from 92-97.

Dunfyboy's Hvnly Brkbts

Download from MediaFire.
Some of these tunes appear on a compilation called Chemical Dance Culture - Test 2: Heavenly Break Beats. A bit of a mouthful, but it did give me the idea for the mix's title.
It's 80 minutes of early happy hardcore and when you listen to the mix, you might notice some D & B influences as most of these tracks are from the time when the breakbeat hardcore scene was splitting into happy hardcore and jungle.
Anyway, enjoy, and remember to not leave a comment.

Dunfyboy's Naughty Naughty Mix

Download from MediaFire.
I know, I know. I said I wasn't posting any more old school mixes for a while but I'm going to reinstall Windows and as I had a couple of old school mixes already recorded on my PC I thought I'd upload them first.
Besides, the last couple proved so popular (well, 4 people leaving coments is good going in these times of lurkers, leeches and ungrateful cunts), I thought you might like a couple more breakbeat hardcore/early happy hardcore/whatever the fuck you wanna call it mixes.
This one features the 11 Naughty Naughty bootleg 12"s that came out in 93/94. If you've never heard of them, they're basically unofficial happy hardcore remixes of dance tracks from the late 80s/early 90s.
Surprisingly, this is just the 2nd mix on the site with a constant tempo. This time, 160bpm.
Enjoy.

02 - Naughty Naughty 2B (Meltdown - Quartz)

OK, after a bit of a lay off, Dunfyboy's Mixes is back in action.
This is the 1st of 2 old school mixes I'm putting up this week. As this one is mostly breakbeats, it seems the natural sequel to my Old School Classics Mix that I posted way back in January, or maybe my Big Four-Oh Mix.

Dunfyboy's Old School Mix 2

Download from MediaFire.
As I mentioned last time, these tunes were all hits in the dance charts and the proper charts that the big labels spend so much time and money rigging. Top Of The Pops-tastic :)
The exceptions that prove the rule are Flute On and Nightbird. I don't think either artist has ever dented the top 40, but I forgot to include them in the last mix.
While I'm proving the inaccuracies of the mix's title, I wouldn't call the last 3 tracks old school as they came out in 96, but I couldn't be arsed making a "Not Quite Old School Mix". 36 out of 39 isn't bad. Besides, I can do what I want. I'm god around here.
Enjoy
01 - Groove Is In The Heart - Deee-Lite
02 - (I Wanna Give You) Devotion - Nomad

Dunfyboy's Old School Mix 1

Download from MediaFire.
It's been a while since I've done any old school mixes. I've got another 2 or 3 planned and hope to get them up in the next week or so. I'd better, as the 80Gb PS3 is on order and I plan to lose at least the next couple of weeks of my life to it (£330 for the console, GTA4, MGS 4 & an HDMI cable, if you're interested).
I was going to do a follow up to my Classic House mix, posted back in January (it seems so long ago) but, as the next mix will have a more commercial sound, I've included some "breakthrough" tracks here, too. That's why this mix has some 80s house, a bit of acid, some "cut n paste" tracks, along with stuff that broke though to the mainstream (Top Of The Pops even!).
So, no Classic House Vol 2, just plain ol' Old School Mix Vol 1.
Enjoy.

Dunfyboy's Big Four-Oh Mix parts 1 & 2

Download part 1 from MediaFire.
Download part 2 from MediaFire.
The plan was to make this my longest mix yet on MyPodcast.com, but...
With my 40th mix coming up I wanted to do something a little special so I made a double length mix, clocking in at a little under 2 hours 39 minutes (or 2 CDs worth for the old farts out there). The problem (I've just found out) is that MyPodcast only allows podcasts up to 2 hours long. Really should have read that FAQ when I joined up, eh?
Anyway, I've split the mix into 2 so at least you can put it on CDs if you want. This is podcast 39, part 2 will be the actual 40th podcast. If you want to join the files, overlay the last 8 bars of part 1 with the first 8 bars of part 2 (it's in the middle of "Just A Feeling"). I was going to stick the whole thing as a one-er on Rapidshare or MegaUpload and mail a link to anyone who left a email address in the comments, but as nobody (except Dave, cheers mate) ever leaves comments, fuck it, you'll have to do it yourself.
I've posted a few of my old school breakbeat mixes here before. There were the Kniteforce and Impact label mixes along with my Old School Classics mix and a couple of my other old school mixes have had the odd breakbeat hardcore track.
A couple of the tracks from this mix may have appeared elsewhere but where this has happened I've used a different mix or remix this time round, so no "doublers" here.
The mix starts of at 128bpm and builds steadily to 161bpm. It's around 142 by the split at track 29.
Enjoy!

Dunfyboy's Drum & Bass Mix

Download from MediaFire.
Worst mix ever.
No, not really, but it's been a pain in the arse.
You know what it's like, I'm sure it's happened to everyone; you finish a mix just before you go abroad to watch your footy team get humped by a 2nd division Swedish outfit in a UEFA cup qualifier. "I'll write down the tracklist when I get back. It'll still be fresh in my mind". Bollocks you will. 9 months later you decide to post the mix to your podcast and think "Shit! No tracklist!". So, having spent this morning swearing a lot, and this afternoon listening to hundreds of tunes and going "No, that's not it" or "That's the right tune, but not the right mix", here it is, complete with the fucking tracklist.
Hope it was worth the effort.
I've never been a huge fan of Jungle or Drum & Bass, but a lot of rave and early hardcore tracks had jungle elements in them so there's always been some I liked. It seemed to me that most jungle producers & DJs seemed to concentrate so hard on the breakbeat they forgot to put a decent tune in there too. Anyway, mid-nineties I gave up on D&B and stuck to hardcore & happy hardcore, but always sort of drifted back every once in a while, like in 1998 when I heard "Walk This Land" on "Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels", DJ Marky & XRS's version of "Carolina Carol Bela" in 2002, or when Pendulum released "Hold Your Colour" in 2005.
So, here it is. Some tunes from way back, some more up to date.
Enjoy.
