No, I'm not dead, just haven't done any mixes for a while :)

A few folk have contacted me asking for new links so I've upload all my mixes to MediaFire. With MegaUpload and FileSonic going tits up (fuck you Barack, I thought you were one of the good guys), and RapidShare limiting free users to dial-up speeds half the time there aren't many decent options left.

These took forever to upload thanks to my shitty ISP. If the US government takes down MediaFire they won't be getting re-upped. I don't know if I'll have the time (or the heart) to update the links on my Old School Mixes site but at least this site is up to date for now. As you know, I used to up my mixes to RapidShare, then MegaUpload and FileSonic when RS went tits up. Now they've gone too, thanks to the US government thinking it should fight piracy, not caring if it shits on everybody else in the meantime. But then, only Abe thought it was a government of the people, by the people, for the people. The rest of us know it's a government of corrupt politicians, by the oil companies, for the big corporate businesses.

I'll upload this mix to a MediFire as they seem to be OK for now but fuck knows how long any link will stay live in the current climate. Grab it while you can.

Where does all the time go?

Can't believe it's been nearly 4 months since my last post. I wish I could say I've been productive, but, despite the past few months being really busy, I've got fuck all to show for it :)

Hopefully, I'll be getting my finger out soon, both on here and over at MFTM, but in the meantime, here's the mix I recorded for Pure's radio show back in December. Not sure how it went down as his show seemed to be more hip hop/down tempo beats etc and this is more electro, party breaks/DnB but see what you think. It's a little over half an hour long, so maybe I'll redo it in the future as a longer version.

Anyway, here we have all 60 tracks from the Big Beat Elite series of albums brought out by Lacerba at the end of the 90's. Each release featured 20 tracks and the CD version also featured a CD mix of those tracks on a bonus disc, but here they all are together for the first time.

I've just bought the Jump Up series (though I could've sworn I already had at least one of them), also by Lacerba, so my next mix may follow the same routine.

Podcast goes Bye Bye

I got an email from MyPodcast.com (the original host of my mixes) saying that they were taking my podcast down as I hadn't accessed it in a while. They took their time. I haven't posted anything there since 2008.

I visited their forum a couple of months ago and I saw from the comments that the site seems as unreliable as ever and people are still having issues uploading podcasts.

As the first 64 mixes on here were linked to their servers, I've upped them all to MegaUpload and updated the links on here. That's about 80 hours worth of music peeps. Took all week. Hope you appreciate it. 

I checked the download figures for the 64 mixes hosted on MyPodcast.com. 9778 downloads in total and only a few comments. I make these mixes for myself. There's no need to up them to the net. I just do it on the of chance others might like them too. The number of downloads seems to suggest others do get something from them. The number of comments suggests I'm wasting my time.

Thanks to all who took the time to post a comment or two. I appreciate knowing you appreciate the mixes. Everyone else, you're a cunt. That comment link under each post does actually work, you know.
